Reverend Noah G. Gregory and Caroline “Carrie” Norman Gregory came to Edmond in 1917 so their children could attend high school and Central State Normal School, now the University of Central Oklahoma. Carrie was enrolled Creek and had been educated at the Wealaka Presbyterian Mission. Noah preached for decades in the Creek and Euchee languages and helped establish the Euchee Mission school near Sapulpa.

The Gregorys bought a corner lot at Broadway and Campbell in 1917. In October 1921, the Edmond Enterprise reported that N. G. Gregory had begun an “elegant two-story residence” there, the boxy, welcoming American Foursquare that still frames these rooms today.

For nearly three decades, the house also welcomed Central State students. Before the college opened dormitories in 1937, Carrie advertised “nice rooms for eight girls” with hot and cold water. The front rooms held family weddings, community meetings, meals, and the everyday life of a busy boarding home.

The Gregory family retained the property until 1964. By the 1980s and 1990s it was again serving Edmond’s civic and arts community, hosting events before the entire house was relocated to its present site in 1996. A home built by educators and shaped by hospitality now shelters another generation of students.
