Viola Lessons in Edmond, OK
Viola is the warm, low voice of the string family, and we love teaching it. We work with beginners of every age in Downtown Edmond, including violinists who want to switch, and students who simply like the sound. It all starts with a $20 trial lesson so we can meet you and find the right teacher.
Lessons are one on one, once a week, in person or online. Our string teachers are Suzuki trained and classically trained, and we pick the approach that fits the student rather than the other way around. Families are always welcome to sit in.

Early on we work on a comfortable hold, a relaxed bow arm, and a full, even tone. Viola asks a little more reach than violin, so we take the setup slowly and make sure nothing hurts. Reading alto clef comes once the hands are settled, and we teach it inside real music.
After that it’s classical pieces, chamber music, and whatever the student is excited about. Violists are always wanted in our ensembles and recitals, and everyone gets our free practice app with a tuner, a metronome, and a daily plan from their teacher.
